The Program
Driver to owner in about 28 months.
Two phases. A working partnership, then a payment plan. No hidden fees, no balloon payments, transparent numbers from day one.
How we start together
The program starts with a face-to-face conversation. Come by the shop, meet the team, and walk through the trucks we have on the lot. Pick the one that fits how you want to run.
From there, we ask you to take it out for a test drive. What we really want is your honest feedback: anything you noticed, anything that didn't feel right, anything you'd want addressed before you commit. Our mechanics take your notes alongside their own inspection and get the truck fully dialed in for you.
While the truck's in the shop getting finished up, you'll apply to a medium- or large-sized carrier of your choice, the one you'd like to run loads for. Once they approve you, they reach out to DNA Diesel directly and we complete the paperwork together.
Sign day is when the program officially begins.
Phase 1
Working partnership, first 10 months
How the split works
For the first ten months, you and DNA Diesel split the net revenue on the truck 50/50. Net means after fuel, insurance, plates, and the other running costs come out first, so we're both looking at the real number, not the gross.
Repairs and support
Trucks are trucks. Things happen. We put an $8,000 repair budget on your truck at the start of the program. If something breaks in that window, we cover it. If repairs run over the $8,000, we won't leave you stranded. We'll help you get the work done and set up a payback that fits what you're running.
The weekly floor
We ask that the truck produces at least $850 per side per week, which is $1,700 total net. That's the minimum that keeps both of us moving forward.
You can finish Phase 1 early
If you produce more than the minimum, Phase 1 gets shorter. The math is proportional:
- At the floor ($850 per side per week), Phase 1 runs the full 10 months.
- At double the floor ($1,700 per side per week, $3,400 total), Phase 1 shortens to 5 months.
- The harder you run, the faster you get to Phase 2.
Phase 2
Payment plan, final 18 months
The purchase contract
When Phase 1 wraps, you sign the purchase contract on your truck. That's the moment you start becoming the owner. DNA Diesel remains the lien holder through Phase 2, and you make weekly payments toward the truck being fully yours.
Weekly payments
Weekly payments run between $650 and $750, depending on the make and model of the truck. Straightforward. No balloon payment at the end, no surprise fees.
You're running independently
One thing to know: the $8,000 repair budget was Phase 1 only. In Phase 2, maintenance and repairs are on you, same as any owner-operator. That's exactly why we work so hard to make sure the truck is right before you take it out.
Finish faster if you want
Same principle as before. You can double up on your weekly payments to cut the remaining time in half. There's no penalty for paying ahead.
Free and clear at the end
Once the last payment clears, the lien releases and we hand over the title free and clear. No lien holder, no encumbrances. The truck is 100% yours. That's the whole program.
What we ask of you
The program works because both sides show up. Here's what we need from you:
- The willingness to work. This isn't a lease that runs itself. You have to hustle.
- Commitment to the weekly minimum in Phase 1, and on-time payments in Phase 2.
- Basic maintenance discipline. Treat the truck like it's already yours. Because it will be.
